Wabi Sabi Residences, operated by ANRO ARRECIFE S.A., is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect information you provide when using this website or contacting us about our properties in Punta Uva, Costa Rica.

This policy is governed by Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 — Ley de Protección de la Persona Frente al Tratamiento de sus Datos Personales and, for visitors from the European Economic Area, also by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect

We only collect data you actively provide to us:

• Contact enquiries: name, email address, phone number, message content
• Booking requests: travel dates, number of guests, special requirements
• WhatsApp / email communication: your name and contact details as provided

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioural analytics tools. No personal data is collected passively from site visits.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Respond to your enquiry or booking request
• Communicate availability, pricing and reservation details
• Fulfil contractual obligations related to your stay
• Comply with legal and fiscal obligations in Costa Rica

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Airbnb bookings made via external links are governed by Airbnb's own Privacy Policy.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under Costa Rica Ley 8968 and the GDPR we process your data on the following bases:

• Your explicit consent — when you submit our contact form or message us directly
• Performance of a contract — to manage your reservation
• Legitimate interest — to respond to enquiries prior to a booking
• Legal obligation — where required by Costa Rican tax and accommodation law

5. Your Rights

Under Ley 8968 and the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing

EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their national data protection authority. Costa Rican residents may contact the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB) at prodhab.go.cr.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected — typically for the duration of your booking and up to 5 years thereafter to meet Costa Rican fiscal and legal requirements. Enquiries that do not result in a booking are deleted within 12 months.

7. Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. All email communication is encrypted in transit. We do not store sensitive payment data — bookings via Airbnb are processed securely by Airbnb.

8. Third-Party Links

This website contains links to Airbnb and WhatsApp. Once you leave our site, their respective privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the data practices of third-party platforms.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The current version is always available at this URL with the date of last update shown at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
